So many – but first, my children.

Difficult to choose just one, I have an enduring love for Bronte’s “Jane Eyre”. Short story, if I’m allowed, is Chekhov’s “The lady with the dog”.

“It’s a wonderful life” – a film I have watched many times.

ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE YOUR 18-YEAR-OLD SELF?

It will be alright – you can do this!

HOW DID YOU END UP IN DARTMOUTH?

Born here. Parents, grandparents, came from the immediate vicinity – Dartmouth, Kingswear, Stokefleming, Blackawton, Dittisham etc.

ANY CUTE KIDS OR PAMPERED PETS?

Very cute, smarty pants kids. One hound….

CREAM FIRST OR JAM FIRST?

Jam, definitely.

PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT?

Has to be going, on my own to Moscow, to train at the Bolshoi Ballet School. I was 13 years old and it was the mid sixties – at the height of the Cold War.

Too many!

BEST THING ABOUT LIVING IN DARTMOUTH?

For me, it is home. I always touched base here throughout my career. A place of beauty and with a comforting familiarity.

WHAT ANNOYS YOU MOST?

Honestly? The proliferation of second homes in the town…. and the fact that some of the families I went to school with are unable to afford to buy a home here. Or even rent a home. Appalling.

WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?

Music, dance, culture..and kind, compassionate people.
