Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second in Memoriam
The death has been announced of Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and of her other realms and territories, Queen, head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.

Proclamation
The proclamation to celebrate the new King Charles III will be read out by the Town Crier in the Bandstand in the Royal Avenue Gardens on Monday 12th September at 11am.
The Mayor of Dartmouth Town Council
On behalf of the Mayor of Dartmouth Town Council “this is a very sad time for all and I wish to state as a town, our thoughts go out for the family of our gracious Queen”
Flying of Flags
The Union Flag at Dartmouth Guildhall will be flown at half-mast as a sign of respect. On Proclamation Day the flag will be raised to full mast and will remain there until 13:00 hours the following day when the flag will be returned to half-mast until the day following the funeral.
Books of Condolence
There will be a book of condolence in the Guildhall for anyone who wishes to sign it, this will be available from Monday to Friday, 10am – 2pm.

Flowers
For anybody wanting to lay flowers on this occasion we ask that all plastic and cellophane is removed and they are left in Royal Avenue Gardens around the bandstand.
The day after the funeral the flowers will be removed for composting and the compost will be used to plant a memorial tree.
