    header

On Thursday, 6th June at 11:00 AM, the town of Dartmouth will come together to mark the 81st anniversary of the D-Day landings with a commemorative service on The North Embankment.

This important occasion offers residents, visitors, and veterans the opportunity to reflect and pay tribute to those who took part in the historic Normandy landings on 6th June 1944. The D-Day operation was a turning point in World War II and remains a symbol of extraordinary courage and sacrifice.

The service will be followed by a procession to Royal Avenue Gardens, where further tributes will be paid.

We are honoured that the Mayor of Dartmouth will be in attendance, alongside other local dignitaries. Wreaths will be laid, and a moment of silence will be observed in remembrance of those who served and gave their lives for freedom.

All are welcome to attend this solemn and respectful event. Please join us as we remember those who fought for peace and liberty, and ensure their legacy continues to be honoured by future generations.
