Dart Music Festival
Dartmouth is well known as a premier destination for tourists, but did you know there are several fantastic festivals throughout the year? One of these is the Dart Music Festival; an annual event which takes place every May in our beautiful town.
This year on the 11, 12 & 13 May they are celebrating 21 years! We love the festival which provides free music for all across 3 days. Run by volunteers, music fills the town, from the Guildhall, to Bayards Cove, to the Bandstand. It is a fantastic family friendly music event! With a wide range of music to suit all tastes happening across the town, you could be listening to jazz before lunch, and reggae after. In the past, we have had the pleasure of hearing some amazing acts, and this year’s line up promises to be a scorcher with headline act announced as Dodgy!
Definitely worth a visit, if they are good enough for you, they are good enough for me! We applaud the organisers this year as they concentrate on music for all and rubbish for none. The festival team have put their thinking caps on to try and solve one of the most irritating and unnecessary problems caused by litter during the Music Festival weekend. They are introducing branded, collectable and REUSABLE plastic glasses. Keep it, reuse it and take it home with you! They have also teamed up with Devon Contract Waste, whose innovative scheme reduces landfill to Zero!
Waste that can be recycled is removed, with any remaining going to Energy to Waste to be incinerated. So Zero to landfill, less collections, less CO2 and no sorting of waste by you! If you are planning to visit Dartmouth during this busy weekend, do check out www.discoverdartmouth.com for accommodation ideas! So please do support the festival and enjoy the music! https://www.dartmusicfestival.co.uk/
