Visually Impaired Group

Visually Impaired Reading Group is a group that has been started to enable those with visual impairments to be able to still enjoy reading books. There are large prints and audio books available and Dartmouth Library have other aids to help with reading. After reading the books the group can then have a discussion about what they have just read.

Counselling

Free confidential counselling to any individual that may need it. Dartmouth Caring has fully trained counsellors that are here to offer a safe and confidential environment. Morning sessions are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at Dartmouth Clinic.

Bridge Worker

Our Bridge Worker is employed as a joint appointment between Dartmouth Caring and the NHS. The Bridge Worker, Lauren, helps to reduce the time spent in hospital by vulnerable adults and to signpost needs ensuring the right care is provided quickly and efficiently in the community.

Dartmouth Community Chest

A local community action group dedicated to helping those within and outside the local area. Their mission is to collect and redistribute goods around the town, to help low income families & challenged individuals. Dartmouth Community Chest provide access to basic utilities and furniture whilst helping the environment by stopping undamaged goods going to landfill.

Park and Ride

The Park and Ride service is provided by South Hams District Council and runs between Easter and the end of October, every 10 minutes, or 20 minutes on a Sunday. The service runs from the car park just outside Dartmouth on the A3122, where it joins with the A379 by Lidls supermarket, to Dartmouth town centre.

Tickets can be obtained from the pay and display machines in the car parks. The tickets are in two parts: one to show the bus driver; and one must be displayed on the car. The driver will issue a zero value return ticket to everyone that boards the bus, this must be shown to the driver for the return journey.

Dogs are permitted on the Park and Ride bus.

All day tickets cost £5.00 or £3.00 after 2pm.

Dartmouth Academy is a non-selective, co-educational school within the English Academy programme. The academy was opened in September 2010 following the merger of two schools, Dartmouth Community College and Dartmouth Primary School. It is an all-through school, open to students aged 3 to 18.

Seagull Sacks

Seagull Sacks are provided by South Hams District Council. If you cannot be allocated a bin, due to access issues, you can collect a Seagull Sack from Dartmouth Town Council, between the hours of 9am-2pm. Please note that your black bin bags go in your seagull sack, but recycling bags do not go in it. It is advised that you paint your house number on your Seagull Sack and tie it up securely.

**Noss Marina & moorings      

There is a minimum charge of £8.00 per trip (a single passenger pays £8.00, two or more passengers pay £4.00 each). In the case of concession tickets, where a single passenger is carried, the ticket will be clipped twice.

This service may be withdrawn without notice in the event of severe weather.

Dittisham Water Taxi

There is a water taxi service operated by the Dittisham to Greenway Ferry.

The Dittisham to Greenway Ferry is based on Greenway jetty. Call the ferry on VHF Ch. 10.

On land, ring the Bell outside the Ferry Boat Inn or on Greenway Quay to summon the ferry and cross the river or to go to your boat if moored nearby.
